Edema occurs when fluid is released from inside cells inside the body. This can occur for many reasons. Some examples would include trauma and fluid retention. The most likely cause of edema in the hands after hiking would be due to some type of hand trauma during the hike.It could be related to a fall or pulling branches.

Yes, you can definitely get edema in any of your extremities after vigorous activity, including hiking. The stress and heat is usually the cause. If you have concerns about edema in your body, check with your doctor to make sure something else isn't going on such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

I would go and see a physician to make sure that there isn't an underlying medical condition. Exercise such as hiking should help relieve edema not cause it.

No we cannot get edema on your hands because of hiking. Hiking cannot cause edema because it is completely different source. Edema is obtained by drinking excess of fluids unknowingly and it is obtained by drinking water heavily.so hiking is completely the different synonym from the edema.Hiking improves physical health.
