Yes, you can make a spare key for emergencies. Chip in the key acts as a communication between program in key and engine immobilizer(vehicle safety). Honda key has high security transponder and makes expensive and difficult for generic producers. Ordering the key from Honda will be without any security flaws.

You HAVE to get the key from the dealership. The key has an engine immobilizer in it, that if not programmed, the key will not start the car. T

Yes you can. If you have a standard non-coded key then anyone should be able to duplicate a key for you. However a newer car has a programmable key that has is specific to your car. So if you have this kind of key you have to get a pare from a dealer and it may need to be programmed.
