General Hospital, as with most soaps, is not available on DVD as the shows generally produce 200-250 original sixty minute episodes per year, which would mean a ton of DVDs for each season set, and GH has been around since 1963, which is almost 47 years worth of shows.

None of the soaps are no DVD because the shows have run for so many years and they produce somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 episodes each year. It would be a tremendous challenge for a production company to create a DVD set for a year's worth of episodes to represent a singular season.

While there are no official DVDs of the soap opera General Hospital that have been released, there are many people who record this show and have converted their recordings to DVD. You may want to try websites like and .Keep in mind that buying and selling recorded material is not exactly legal.

As far as I can see, no episodes have been released on DVD. There seem to be a few petitions circling the web fighting to have them released, but I was unable to find any information regarding DVDs containing past episodes. Assuming you're in the United States, you can watch some past episodes on ABC. com.

ABC's General Hospital is currently no available in DVD format. A few select moments do exist on VHS, under titiels such as "Daytime's Greatest Weddings", which you could convert to DVD if you own the proper computer hardware, and software. This does require some effort and investment of time on your part.

No, you cannot. I don't believe any soap is avaliable on DVD. You can however, buy the General Hospital: Night Shift on DVD.

As of January 2010, complete seasons of General Hospital have not been released on DVD. However, a DVD called Daytime's Greatest Weddings does contain one episode of General Hospital.

No but it should be. I hope GH stays on the air and the dummies at ABC don't take it off.

Since it seems impossible to produce the General Hospital episodes on DVD because there are so many shows in a season. It would be wonderful if the GH producers would seriously consider creating a 50th anniversary DVD of the episodes that are being aired on SoapNet for their loyal fans.
