A Baptist minister who wishes to become an ordained Lutheran pastor will first have to become a Lutheran. At the adult level, this is usually done by attending weekly classes and eventually coming to the point of professing the Lutheran faith. To become ordained, one must attend a Lutheran seminary and learn theology and intern for one year.

The short answer is yes, but of course every individual minister and every individual congregation may have their own limitations and requirements on the doctrinal position and other qualities of their leader. It may depend how flexible both parties are prepared to be on particular issues like infant baptism.

Certainly, but not automatically: The Baptist will need to consult Lutheran leadership and be accepted into the Lutheran ordination process. First the Baptist will need to become a confirmed Lutheran, then fulfill any additional ordination requirements. There will be interviews and steps along the way to help discern and affirm that this is the right path for the Baptist.

Yes, and some have. If a Baptist becomes convinced that Lutheran teaching is closer to Biblical truth than Baptist teaching, he has the option of leaving the Baptist church and applying to Lutheran seminary. If the Baptist minister convinces the Lutheran seminary to accept him (or her), upon graduation the Baptist minister would be qualified to become a Lutheran pator.

It's a matter of faith on whether one has to convert from being a Baptist minister to a Lutheran pastor.

Yes, this can happen as long as the Baptist minister has received the appropriate education and training from the Lutheran church.

It is a difficult process to make the switch from a Baptist minister to a Lutheran pastor. You will need to contact the Lutheran church and talk to some of their local church officials in your area and take it from there. It will require a lot of time and effort to do this hope it works out for you!

If a Baptist minister feel that the Lutheran faith is better for him/her they will have to undergo interviews and test to determine if their faith and change is true.
