Are underarm cysts dangerous?

Cysts on top of the underarm skin may result from shaving too close. A cyst or mass under the skin may come from swollen lymph nodes.This could be something serious. When in doubt, have your doctor evaluate the cysts. A lot of times cysts will develop in armpits of young girls just starting to shave.

Most of the time they are not serious. Most underarm cysts come from close frequent shaving. If the cysts get bigger or don't go away, see your doctor. Sometimes the use of antperspirant sprays will cause underarm cysts. There are many causes of such cysts and very few are serious.

I have had this condition a couple of times over the last ten years or so. They're only potentially dangerous if they linger for a long period of time.
