Continuing education for adults is a common service to help re-train the workforce to find new jobs after unemployment. Some continuing education classes are run through local school districts. Other courses are offered through community colleges. If your area has had extensive recent layoffs, the community college may have all-day programs specifically targeting the recently unemployed.

In my city there are. For example, at the local community college there are classes available such as GED, typing, running different computer programs like MS Word and other office programs and lots more. There is also classes running through the local unemployment offices and DSHS. You can try these and searching your local library for more information.

Yes, these classes are for anyone who chooses to take them. They are most often offered at trade schools or colleges. Depending on your circumstances, you may even qualify for some type of financial aid. Call the school and ask to speak to the Continueing Education Department and they will be more than happy to help you.

There are probably courses offered at your local community college. They may be for something in service industry like accounting or maybe learning a new language. You can also opt to join a technical school if you would like to pick up a new skill that can be utilized in a future career (i. e. become an electrician).
