Salt licks are not only good for horses; they are essential for good horse health. A salt lick can provide horses not only with sodium but also with potassium and other minerals if you use a fortified salt lick. A salt lick will also encourage horses to drink more water, especially important in cold weather.

Salt licks are fabulous for horses. It's a great way to keep them entertained, they like the taste and it is a great way for them to get the additional vitamins and minerals they need and may not be getting from their normal feed. With a salt lick, they can use their own discression for when they need the minerals.

Not only are salt licks GOOD for horses, they're darn near crucial in a horse's diet! There are minerals that a horse's body needs that hay, grass, and grain lack. I definitely recommend a really good salt lick for any horse, especially one lacking in minerals.
