Ammonia boils at -28 degrees fahrenheit. Although ammonia is a non-flammable gas it will ignite at temperatures above 1204 degrees fahrenheit. One gallon of liquid ammonia will expand to 850 gallons of gas. Ammonia is stored in white or light color tanks to reflect sunlight. This is important because increase temperature in an enclosed tank increases pressure.
