Why doesn't ESPN show more boxing?

I love to watch boxing.

ESPN has limited their showing of boxing becuase it has become more of a niche sport. The absence os a power heavyweight along with the rise of MMA as well as other extreme sports has pushed the world of boxing to the curb. The sports failure to promote itself has not helped either.

Have you tried watching boxing all hours of the day? Perhaps it is shown on off-peak hours like during the night, especially since many matches could be in other countries.

Not much interest has been shown for boxing on ESPN. Radio seems to be better suited to boxing than tv. In May a major boxing event was aired on ESPN.

ESPN (and other major sports networks) don't show much in the way of boxing anymore, because of poor ratings, lack of sponsors, and the overall state of the sport. Since the Don King era, boxing is on the decline, with MMA now being the more popular sport for fight fans.
