Some cats are naturally drawn toward your chest because of the location of your heart and your voice. In the womb, they were introduced to both inner body sounds and to the sound of their mother's meow and purring. They naturally remember these influnces and you are their human mother offering safety, security and love.

This is just an individual preference of the cat; she may like to feel you breathing, or to feel more intimately close to you. Also, social status among cats is determined by how high up they perch, so if you have other cats, it could be something relating to dominance.

Your cat probably finds you warm and desires to be close to you. Also, your face and head appear much bigger to your cat the further he is away from you. When he is close to your face, you seem much more his size and less intimidating. Enjoy his affection for you!
