You can get bumps on your soft palate from eating food that's too rough, hot or spicy. Dentures that don't fit very well can also make bumps.

The bumps may be canker sores caused by high stress levels in the body. They are identified by a bright red spot around a white or yellow area. Canker sores are not a sign of cancer and are benign. They may be cured by rinsing regularly with an antiseptic mouthwash.
