Urinating blood clots is very uncommon and can be due to infection of kidneys or bladder but this would be painful as well. In men it can be a sign of testicular cancer. It could be due to kidney stones which again are painful. Other causes are inflammation of urinary bladder or urethra. There are too many causes to list.

You definately should see a doctor right away. Blood clots in urine can mean anything from a bad kidney or bladder infection to a urinary tract or prostate cancer. Often cancer in the urinary tract has spread by the time the patient is urinating blood or blood clots. Any condition with this symptom can be treated.

If you are a woman and have your period this is normal. But if this is not the case I would seek help from your doctor to have tests done.

If a person is urinating blood clots, they may notice a foul smell to the urine. Itt is likely that they are also going to the bathroom frequently to urinate, urinating in small amounts and experiencing bladder pain. This could also be a sign of more serious urinary tract issues.

If you are urinating blood clots you make have infection in urethra, bladder, or kidney. Another cause of this problem is kidney stones. These are associated with pain often quite severe.

You are likely to be dealing with a serious urinary tract infection or disease (which can become very dangerous and possibly threatening to the kidneys if untreated). Treating an ordinary urinary tract infection requires prescription medicine, so if you are dealing with one severe enough to cause you to urinate blood clots, it is definitely time to see a doctor.
