1st string = E, 2nd string = B, 3rd string = G, 4th string = D , 5th string = A, 6th string = E Remember that the first string is the one that is on the bottom. A bass guitar uses 1st string = E, 2nd string = B, 3rd string = G, 4th string = D

The notes on the guitar strings are the first string (the thinnest one) is E, the second string is B, the third string is G, the fourth string is D, the fitfth string is A and the sixth string (the biggest one) is E. So the notes are EADGBE.
