Your cat will know when to stop nursing her kittens and will wean them herself by staying out of their reach, or standing up to leave when they start nursing.

Most people will say six weeks of age. However every kitten is different. What the best thing to look for is the mother (if they are nursing from the mom). The mother cat will naturally stop letting them nurse when she decides it is time.

Kittens can begin eating solid food when they are about 4 weeks old, but they still need to nurse and have milk until they are at least 6 weeks. However, it is best for their development for the kittens to be with their mother and still have the opportunity to nurse until they're 8-12 weeks.

When they are about 5 to 6 weeks old show them real food and milk they have for kittens. Stick their nose in it and nature will take over.
