A kitten should finish weaning around six to eight weeks. Sometimes mother cats will discourage further nursing because they want to get pregnant again.

Kittens can stop nursing as early as four weeks, but shouldn't. However they CAN. If your kittens are able to eat kitty kibble, they're fine. Don't feed them canned food or human food, they can have diarrhea and dehydrate. If they are unable to eat solid food, call your vet.

I think that anywhere from 6-8 weeks is a good amount of time. You can always go out and get kitten formula if you are concerned and eye dropper feed them yourself. Otherwise you can feed the kittens wet kitten food. I hope this helps you out with your troubles.

Usually a mother cat will stop nursing her kittens between 7-8 weeks, but it is not unusual for a mother cat to stop around 6 weeks or even as long as twelve weeks. It depends on the situation and whether the kittens have another resource they can get food from.

You really need to step back and let Mother Nature handle this one. Mama Cat knows what she's doing. Aside from that, do you really think it's possible to get a Cat to do something it doesn't want to do? They'll be fine.
