What's a good Japanese tattoo?

I don't want to be unintentionally offensive.

Tattoos representing nature, such as animals, landscapes, and plant life from other cultures seem to be harmless. I would refrain from anything having to do with language.

You can get a Japanese kanji character tatto. The kanji characters are symbols that represent certain words. Think of a word that is meaningful to you such as happiness, faith, strength, etc, and have that sybol tattoed. The koi fish is another popular Japanese style tattoo that you can get.
