They are very intelligent dogs. The more things you do with them, and include them in, like driving around together, the better pets they will make. They require little punishment as they are smart enough to punish themselves. They are generally very moody and skiddish dogs. They may urinate when excited or frightened.

They will do fine the thing you need to know is too be with mom while she is having them judst be there in case she gets too tired to do the sacks on the puppies or the puppies get out of her reach you can also do a web search to get more information.

About a week before whelping, a bed should be prepared for the dog and she should use it for sleeping. When puppies are born, the enveloping membranes should be removed quickly as possible, lest they suffocate. After this the umbilical cord should be severed with clean scissors some three or four inches from the puppy's belly.

If you've never delivered puppies, you need some serious instruction on trouble shooting. The mom will take care of most of it, but she may need help in a number of areas. Please visit with you veterinarian immediately and well before the big day. There's a lot to seeing the pups through their first few weeks of life.

Yorkies are very small dogs so you should watch them to make sure that there are no complications. If your dog is having trouble get it to a Vet A. S. A. P.
