What should I know about keeping ferrets in hot temperatures?

Ferrets do not tolerate high temperatures very well at all. They absorb heat from their environments fairly quickly. Ferrets do not have sweat glands under their thick fur which makes it difficult for them to dissipate heat away from their bodies, making them more succeptible to heat stroke or death.

Try to keep them out of the elements as best you can. Keep them somewhere in your home where it's cool and thats not near a window.

Temps that are over 85-90 are to hot for ferrets they are pron to over heating and heat strokes. keep the Ferrets cage at 70 F or 20 c.
