What should I know about budgies and mating problems?

Colonies offer the best chance for breeding to happen. Females are aggressive during mating, so extra birds should be male. A large cage and nest boxes are necessary, although allowing the birds room for flights is preferable. Budgies are not monogamous, so lines are hard to track. Females will try to attack others, so be careful.

You will be most successful at breeding budgies if you have a large flight cage or aviary with lots of budgies in it.
