Ask her why she isn't responding to your question. Listen to her response. If this doesn't work try setting a time to talk when both of you can come prepared.

If she isn't answering such an important question, your communications have definitely been broken down. Being so serious, you already know the reason she is refusing to answer this question. Find a way to open up the communications again, and be extremely honest with her. You need to start at the foundation of your relationship again.

She is probably feeling trapped; she feels like she has no choice, so there's no point in talking about what she wants. Instead of asking that question, ask her if there's something you've done that's been bothering her.
