Sadly, lots of teenagers run away from home every year. The first step is to see if you can find them at the places that you know (at their friends' homes, for example). If this does not work, you will have to notify the police. Once your teenager gets back home, it will be important to get them into counseling.

Call the police and file a missing person's report. Then try and look for him/her. Get your teenagers picture out there. Hang filers of her/him on telephone polls. Also you can contact their friends to see if they have heard from them. I know this is easier said than done, but you need to be calm and just look from him/her.

Call the police. Also, look for services for runaway youngsters to help you find the child and take steps to reunite. Be prepared to go to counseling.

Be sure your teenager has indeed run away. If you're sure, call the police and ask their advice. Contact your teenager's friends to see if they know where he or she is. Make posters and distribute them at the school.
