What should I do if I have caused a minor car accident by hitting a parked vehicle?

No one was hurt, but I'm not sure what is the right thing to do if I hit a parked car.

Leave a message on the windshield with your name and phone number, and explain that you accidentally hit their car. You should not leave personal information on someone's car. Wait for them to call to get it from you. Test the caller by asking what kind and color of car it was.

If you hit a car within a parking lot and caused damage you should leave a note/contact info. How would you feel if someone hit and ran from you?

The rules for this vary from state to state. In general, however, you should leave a note on the car that you damaged providing your name, contact information, and insurance information. If you have already left the scene of the accident, unfortunately, you have committed the crime of hit and run and there is no way to fix it.

First we have to find the owner of the parked vehicle to say sorry and ask him about the cost of the damaged part of the vehicle, and pay the money immediately.

If you hit a parked car and the owner of the car is around you should exchange insurance information. If the owner isn't you should leave a note.
