I believe a diagram of a plant would include anything that is vital to the life of the plant.Go for stem, leaves, flowers, bark, stamens, pistuls, seeds, seed pods, branches, roots, and cones.I would also include a cross section that would tell how the nutrients are transported to the various parts of the specified plant--not all plant families have all th esame kinds of parts.

The root system, the shoot system, the leaf, the blade, the petiole, the cotyledon and the stem. The plant has two shoot systems the root and the shoot, so distinguish between them.
