Well, get any type according to your preference. Make sure it has proper air vents and everything. Feed it often.

Since budgie's do not build nests and they just find holes in trees, all you need is a box with a hole in it.

Go to a pet store and see what kind of box they recommend for budgies. Different budgies might prefer different boxes, so you might have to experiment a little to find one that's right.

Budgies are communal birds and reside in colonies, therefore, placing the nest close to another one may encourage breeding. A woven lidded basket can be made into a budgie nest as can a shoebox. If creative, find directions and make yours or purchase one from a pet store or online.

A small box with a slightly concave bottom so that the eggs don't roll. You can make or buy one. Since budgie's are colony nesters, they nest better if you have several pairs, and several nest boxes. They like company.
