Make sure that the other partner understands your position, 'married and staying married' or your spouse is told it's over before they're hurt more badly than they would be now.

If you have had an extramarital affair, the best advice is for you to evaluate why it happened to ultimately decide whether you want to try and salvage your marriage.

I would distance myself from the person I had the affair with. If you're unhappy in your marriage, leave it. Having an affair is not going to be worth it.

Ask yourself about which person you care the most. Neither of them would be okay with you having a relationship with the other, so you'll have to choose somewhere down the line. Your new lover might only be exciting for so long, but if you choose your old one... Why did you have an affair then anyway?
