The value of a buffalo nickel depends on the condition of the nickel as well as the year it was minted. A 1918 buffalo nickel can be worth up to $1500 today. A 1913 buffalo nickel can be worth up to $400.

The value of a buffalo nickel is dependent on several factors - date of coin, number minted and condition. A coin dealer should be consulted to determine cash value.

With a readable date, they are worth thirty five cents, or seven times the face value. If the nickel has a date or mint stamp that is especially rare, it can be worth a hundred or a thousand times its face value. If the date is not legible it is not worth more than face value.

Buffalo Nickels, which are often referred to as Indian Head Nickels are valued at least seven times their face value unless they are badly damaged, but as long as they have a readable date. Buffalo Nickels without dates are generally not collectible. Some of these nickels though, are worth hundreds or thousands of times their face value.

The value of a buffalo nickel is determined by the year, condition of the coin, and market demand. The price can range from $.35 to around $120.00.
