In PA, you are going to get a protection from abuse order as it is called. Go to the courthouse or police station in your area to receive more info as the procedure can vary from county to county.

You must file a complaint with the police and then present the police report and relative information in a request for a restraining order. There are different types of protective orders. You will appear before a judge to make your case.

Retraining orders against a party are commenced when you file a Protection From Abuse action against the defendant. Proper service of the complaint must be made, and then a speedy hearing is held before a judge within a week or so. At the hearing, an Order is awarded to the plaintiff, if the judge finds the defendant guilty.

You need to go down to your local courthouse and tell them that you need to file a temporary restraining order. They will give you paperwork to fill out and will set a time for the judge to hear your side. Normally this happens in the afternoon of the same day of filing paperwork.
