A negative number times a negative number is always a positive number. Thus, a negative exponential curve cannot be achieved. Any function with an exponent above 1 for the leading/coefficient/will/yield/a/positive/result.

It is not altogether clear what is meant by a negative exponential curve. A curve with a base that was a constant raised to the negative power which varies as a function of time. This type of function represents radioactive or logarithic decay which is also called negative exponential decay.
