The Norwegian for Christmas is 'Jul'. This is from the same root as the English word 'yule'. It's the same in both written forms of Norwegian: Bokmål and Nynorsk. A good source for foreign words it to look up the entry in English on Wikipedia and then click the language you want on the left to see its entry.

Jul is the Norwegian word for Christmas and is derived from the pre-Christian Viking festival when homes were cleaned, animals were slaughtered and roasted and much celebrating occurred.
