I have 3 active children myself, we utilize stain resistant carpeting for most rooms, and it holds up very well. With kids it is not so much the brand you look at, as the over all quality. Home Depot and Lowes as a large selection with budget friendly prices.

Laminate flooring is the most durable flooring on the market today. It's designed for children and pets. The floor is stain and scratch resistant and holds up to 40,000 pounds per square inch. It cleans with a damp mop. The floor always looks the same and never fades.

I believe that you should install Allures Vinyl flooring, it is great for alot of traffic in and out of the rooms, whether you are barefoot or wearing high heeled shoes. This flooring will be great for active children as it doesn't rip or tear no matter how you treat it.

Commercial rated laminate flooring may be a good choice for your family. It has the attractive look of hardwood, but won't dent or scratch as much. The commercially rated flooring is built to stand up to high traffic.

Choosing new flooring for your home can be a daunting task. If children are in the mix then it can be more difficult. Many people with children choos to use carpet as their flooring scheme while others prefer the ease of clean that a hard wood floor can provide. The ages of the kids may dictate your decision.

Personally I would recommend laminate floor boards. Slightly more plastic to the touch than wood, but are easily swept, cleaned and will not soak in any spillages or accidents.

Real hardwood floors. It might cost more but it is worth all the money. I would recommend area rugs for children to play. And at door entrances a throw rug to wipe your feet.

If buying carpet, make sure it is a good quality with a thick nap. Stain resistance is a plus, too! Hardwoods can be scratched and damaged by children or pets. Marble or slate is durable and beautiful, but expensive. Ceramic tile is a good alternative to marble and can be found in a variety of styles.

linoleum is possibly the least expensive yet most durable kind of flooring you can have. its also pretty soft so loss of balance and falling on the bum wouldnt hurt as much.

If you are going with wood, engineered is the most durable. Vinyl is also good if you get a high quality vinyl.
