floors

Question by  Platynum (39)

What are the best options for kitchen flooring?

I just pulled carpet out of the kitchen in a house I recently bought. Nothing but sub-floor under it.

Probably your best bet for kitchen flooring would be either linoleum or tile. Remember that some of the biggest messes made in the house are made in the kitchen. Carpeting is really hard to keep llooking nice and who wants to scrub every time there is a spill? Personally I like tile the best.

Tiled flooring is the best choice for the kitchen because it is possible for the homeowner to install it himself without hiring somebody, and it is very easy to clean considering how many messes are made in the kitchen. It is also very durable and lasts for years to come.

The cheapest and fastest option will probably be to install a composite snap together flooring. It is cheaper than tile and looks better than vinyl or linoleum.

One way to cover a sub-floor is with a layer of plywood followed by vinyl tile. This is a low cost and easy solution.
