Comp-time, or compensatory time, is paid time off for employees who have worked extra hours. This may be used in lieu of paying the employees overtime. It may also be the standard for employees who are exempt from overtime/FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) such as police, firefighters, salaried employees.

Comp-Time is earned through your employer over the course of a year. It is usually available to full time employee's and can be used in conjuction with or in place of vacation time.
