What is the formula for peroxide?

The FORMULA for hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. That's the simple part. Unfortunately, you need very sophisticated equipment, plus major permits, to try to make it. In a concentrated state, it's extremely dangerous, and would be a felony to possess. Peroxide in a more dilute form, for disinfecting and whitening, is in every drugstore in the country.

To make by autoxidation of 2-ethyl-9, 10-dihydroxyanthacene (C16H14O2) to 2-ethylanthraquinone (C16H12O2) and hydrogen forms using the oxygen in the air. The overall equation is H2 + O2 -> H2O2. This is considered highly reactive as it easily creates oxygen ions.
