Hydrocodone is the generic name of a narcotic analgesic that is marketed by various pharmaceutical companies as Anexsia, Dolorex Forte, Hycet, Liquicet, Lorcet, Lortab, Vicodin, Xodol and Zydone, among others. All these drugs are hydrocodone and are identical in their chemical make-up.

Hydrocodone itself is an opioid narcotic analgesic. Lortab is a combination narcotic pain reliever that contains Hydrocodone and non-narcotic Acetaminophen, also known as Tylenol.

Lortab is a brand named drug that contains hydrocodone and acetaminophen(also known as Tylenol). Lortab is one of the brands that hydrocodone is marketed under.

Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever. When adding acetaminophen to hydrocodone you get lortab. Acetaminophen isn't as strong as hydrocodone. It's added to increase effects of the hydrocodone.

Lortab is the name brand drug for pain. Hydrocodone is the generic version of this drug. Both drugs are used for the treatment of pain.

Lortab is a brand of the drug hydrocodone while hydrocodone is the generic name of the drug. Their is no difference in formulation between the two names.
