It is the part of the printer where you put your ink cartridges. It holds and locks them in place so when the ink moves back and forth it won't ruin the words that are being printed on the paper.

When your page prints out it ends up in the cradle area of the printer. You can usually pull out a little section and an extender and it catches the paper for you so it doesn't fall on your floor. Some printers have them built in where you don't have to pull them out.

A printer cradle is the structure that holds the cartridge in an inkjet printer. It holds the ink cartridges as they moves along the paper while printing. The cartridge is pulled back and forth by a belt behind the rollers in the printer assembly and is set off on one side when not in use.

The cradle is the part of the printer that holds the ink cartridges and pulls them back and forth across the page to 'aim' the ink. It is what you insert your cartridges into, as well as the band that pulls the assembly back and forth.
