The most likely culprit is a paper jam. Look in where the paper feeds in and the printouts come out. If there's a wad of paper in there, get it out. Otherwise, the printer might not be connected to the computer, the printer might be out of ink, or the printer software might not be properly installed on the computer.

The power button on a Lexmark printer flashes when something is wrong with the printer. It could be mechanically jammed, have a paper jam, or one of the ink cartridges is not properly inserted. Remove the ink cartridges and replace them. Turn the printer off and back on. If you have done all of these things consult the manual.

Unplugged it, plugged it back in. Check the paper area for jams or objects. Unplug the printer from the computer, boot up the printer. Still blinks, replace it.

Obliviously there is something wrong inside the printer. The request has been sent to print but the printer can't do it. Open it up and check to make sure there isn't a paper jam or something.

It could be something wrong with a print cartridge or a paper jam. You should take out the paper and the print cartridges and try resetting the printer. Also try printing a test page either with the printer alone or from the computer. This should help identify the problem for you.

It could be that your out of ink, or your printer is no longer working. You may need to see a person who knows about printers to fix it.
