All of the dietary monosaccharides (glucose, fructose, and galactose) all have the same chemical formula - C6H12O6, a formula you will come to know and love in all upper-level biology classes. The monosaccharides only differ in the arrangement of the chemical bonds.

There are six carbon atoms, twelve hydrogen atoms and six oxygen atoms in glucose. Or if you wrote it scientifically C6H12O6.
