Dog skin does not normally change color or tan like human skin. The black color may actually be moving fleas. If it is not fleas, wipe the area with a wet cloth. If the cloth turns black it is dirt. If it is redish brown, it is flea excrement.

It is just an aging thing. Apparently a sign of pigmentation. It might turn back to pink in the winter or might just be aging spots. The dog is fine.

This is due to the puppy walking in the grass, playing in the dirt laying around on the ground. Also it is from him laying on the floor in your home.

This could be a type of mange especially if skin gets rough and hair starts to fall out. Sometimes a dog's belly area will turn darker due to getting older.

Most of the time that dogs change would be that when they develop they tend to have not all of there characteristics or colors transformed yet so it takes time for them to develop fully.

Nothing good. A puppy's stomach should not turn black unless it's growing black hair on it. You need to take your dog to a vet to figure out what the cause is. For skin to turn black it usually means something is seriously wrong. Skin turning black is a bad sign.

Sometimes it's just the pigments changing. Other times it is things like allergies and mites. If you're unsure take her to the Vet.

This is most likely due to internal bleeding. Take your dog to the vet immediately! You dog may also have a hernia or hit herself somewhere and a bruise formed. It could also be the skin itself thats black, which means the fur color of your dog will eventually become black.

Very helpful. Her hair on her tummy has always been kind of strawberry blond but she is described as red/sable. She's only a year-and-a-half old so her tummy may be simply turning the darker color and pigment change along with it. Sound about right?
