Cobalt has the atomic number 27. It has a metallic gray color. It is an essential trace element needed by mammals which includes vitamin B12. It with vitamin B12 for red blood cell production. It is not basically produced in the body but found in meat, milk, green leafy vegetables.

It is an element. It is magnetic and metallic. When it is pure, it is silvery white in color. If it is mixed with oxygen and is oxidized it can be mixed with alumina to make Colbalt Blue pigments and colors which are a bluey green. When radioactive, is then called Cobalt 60 and emits Gamma rays used in radiotherapy.
