"Oil Sending Unit" could be an oil temperature or oil pressure sending device in the engine of a car. These parts send readings that are displayed on your dash for oil pressure or oil temperature. They will also send readings to your car's computer.

An oil sending unit is a sensor in most cars that will send you a signal that the oil pressure is low. You will need to have this checked immediately because your oil will de dangerouly low. Sometimes when they go bad you will loose all your oil and your engine will be damaged.
