Networked devices are usually connected through a wireless router. The wireless router sends and recieves packets of data from one device to another. Usually, the router is connected to a modem, which is connected to the internet, connecting the internet to their machines. This is not limited to computers, as cell phones, mobile devices and even gaming consoles can connect.
