What can you tell me about browsing computers on a network?

I often brows on a network and want to make sure it is safe.

If you are doing it from a computer inside your network, you should be fine. There are various ways you can do it from any computer on the net but you would have to open up ports on your firewall that I would not consider safe.

You can make youbrowsing safe and increase speed by simple 3steps. 1) Remove all shorcuts in my network places. 2) stop windows from automatically , adding these shortcuts ,to shared folders. 3)Have everyone on your, network to increase the send buffer for network data. this will wil, surely help you.

Assuming you mean local network (like your house network) you are relatively safe. Be aware that being able to browse other people's computers likely means that they can browse yours. Open "My Computer". Any drive with the image of a hand cupping it is accessible to anyone on the local network.

Browsing on a network is safe as long as the network has a firewall and the network hub has antivirus security. In some cases, a corporate network will have stronger firewalls and network security than a personal computer, making it safe to surf on as compared to a personal computer.
