What is a good herbicide to get rid of poison ivy?

There are a number available on the market. The best advice is to get any ivy targeted herbicide so it will not affect your other plants.

My recommendation would be to pull the plant out, then use a glyphosphate-based herbicide such as Round-up which you can get from your garden centre on the roots.

The best organic way is to root it up entirely, but DON'T BURN!!! Ortho Brush B Gon and Roundup are the two herbicides of choice. The best, most thorough way is to root it up in dormant season. But remember- if you burn it, it is caustic to the lungs.
