A fixed reel is a reel with a spool that doesn't rotate. These reels fix the problem of backlash when casting your line. Alot of anglers use this type of reel for spin fishing. Fixed reels do not tend to be very expensive, and can be purchased at an affordable price.

A fixed spool reel or spinning reel is a type of fishing reel in which the fishing line is coiled by a rotating mechanical bail around a fixed spool.

A fixed reel is one thatg is permanetly attached to the rod. Most rod and reels come seperate so you can interchange them. This combe does not allow that to be done.

A fixed reel is a reel that the spool is 'fixed' so does not put pressure on the live bait fish.
