Is a very old system for storing and transferring data from one computer to another. It was an advancement of the single density because it could hold up to twice as much, hence the name. They're not really used anymore, they've been replaced by CDs and DVDs.

At this day and age I don't think anyone should use them. I doubt those are even compatible with any computer on the market right now. Anyway, A double density floppy disk just has double the storage space, it has alittle over 8mb.

It's a floppy disk with double the density- double the storage size. It's used because it can contain twice the amount of data of a normal floppy disk, saving space and allowing storage of larger files.
