Herpes Simplex 1 is the virus that causes fever blisters or cold sores. The sores tend to heal within a weeks time however the virus remains in the body.

The first thing is, herpes is not curable, no matter what strain. You must be cautious when coming in contact with others during an outbreak. Herbes symplex one can be transfered from the mouth to the genital area which can cause genital herbes. Abreva works well to reduce size.

Herpes Simplex 1 is a virus that usually lies dormant in a nerve bulb. It is commonly known as cold sores, and breakouts can occur on the lips and eyes. During a breakout, it is contagious. It is not the same as genital herpes.

Another name for herpes symplex one is a cold sore. Cold sores are caused by a virus. There are no known cures for viruses. They must run their course. The sores are present usually on the outside corners of your mouth but can be anywhere around the mouth area,on the outside. They are very painful and can last for days.

It would be best to see you doctor to find out for certain. Though it is not "curable," there are many treatments that are available to lessen the symptoms.
