Will putting alcohol on herpes help to remedy the symptoms?

I have herpes, a friend of mine told me to put rubbing alcohol on it, will this result in more pain or will it help?

No, it will not help. herpes cannot be cured with alcohol. You need to get prescription medicine. See a doctor.

Actually. i have had a 100% success rate using listerine. Also before i discovered listerine i always used to suck oon a lime through out the day when i felt the first tingle. I have managed to supress every outbreak since then. Try it, it works.

if its in an early status, it might help, it dries out the sores, and sterilize it. I just did it, sores came out at noon, now i can barely see them. (but i took acyclovir also, and garlic)

Definately don't do that. Herpes makes your skin extremely sensitive and putting rubbing alcohol on it would probably make it more painful. I would go see a doctor to get some real medicine or if really necessary look online for other forms of sedative. But definately don't put rubbing alcohol on your herpes.

Rubbing alcohol is particularly painful when it comes to this kind of thing. You could try peroxide which comes in a brown bottle which may be less painful. However, neither of these items will likely help, but could not hurt. I would recommend that you go to the doctor and get a perscription for some creme or something. Good luck!

Putting Alcohol is not a good option to cure herpes! Instead consult to a doctor specializing this kind of sickness to recommend a anti biotic for you. Zoviarx, Famvir, and Valtrex is the common drugs in the market to cure herpes.
