Max Lucado suggests that we all forget about our experiances because it "weighs us down", however I wouldnt let it change your life as one can read the message as "dont think to much", read a real philosopher on this subject instead Seneca or Neichtze maybe?

Lucado suggests dropping one's emotional baggage - fears, anxieties, regrets, etc. Thus equipped, he states, one is better able to travel through life and to enjoy that journey. He uses the 23rd Psalm ("The lord is my shepherd; I shall not want . . .") as his launching point for the book.
