It is the case on your Honda as on any car that when the tranny light is blinking, there is either a problem with pressure inside the tranny, or it is cracked and there is not enough pressure.

Hondas tend to get a lot of transmission related problems. If your hondas transmission light is missing there might be some loose electronic connectors connecting the transmission to the car or probably the shift solinoids are dirty. If this is not the problem then brobably there is something serious happening inside the transmission.

If your transmission lights are blinking it is a fault in the transmission sensor. Put a code reader on the auto and it will tell you more.

It sounds like you have some type of transmission issue. It may be indicating that there are some trouble codes stored in the TCU. The codes should indicate the problem.
