What does "imperial measurement" mean?

It was the early unit measurement for the Commonwealth British countries. This included length as well as volume measurements. They considered the liquid and dry measurements to be the same.

imperial measurement is the use of inches, miles, etc for distance, pounds for weight and pints for capacity. It is used in the states and only partially in England
